The affair with ignorance (acaricides against parasite infestation in dogs)

Das Geschäft mit der Ahnungslosigkeit (Akarizide gegen Parasitenbefall beim Hund)

It's not a question. Parasites like ticks, fleas or mites are an annoying affair and no dog owner wants to know them in the coat and on the skin of his four-legged friend.

Accordingly, there is a wide range of remedies available to help with parasite infestation. In the following you will find out why such preparations are in reality a bad choice and what you should do against fleas or ticks instead.

Ticks transmit diseases

If you have read our article about ticks in dogs, you know that ticks are also a big health risk for your four-legged friend.

The reason for this is that they are carriers of many diseases. Among other things the small parasites can infect humans or dogs with Borreliose, Babesiose Anaplasmose, Ehrlichiose and FSME.

Some of these diseases are difficult to detect and can therefore often not be treated in time. In some cases they even end fatally or at least cause permanent damage.

All the more alarming in this context is the fact that the number of cases in which ticks infect their hosts with such diseases has risen sharply in recent years.

This, of course, also means an increased risk of Lyme disease or the like for your coat nose.

Acaricides as a remedy against ticks and other parasites

It is certainly more than understandable if you are looking for ways to protect your dog from parasites. Whether over the Internet, in the specialized trade or with your veterinary surgeon. There are enough remedies against fleas or ticks to buy. But before you take money into your hands to protect your dog from the dangers of parasite infestation, you should first make clear which active ingredients the preparations actually contain.

In many cases these are so-called acaricides. Acaricides are nothing more than neurotoxins, i.e. pure nerve poisons, whose original purpose is actually to protect agricultural land such as orchards from pests. In addition, some acaricides are also authorised in the EU as tick repellents for pets such as dogs.

Mode of action of acaricides

By administering such a preparation as protection against ticks or fleas, the neurotoxins enter your dog's bloodstream and lymphatic system. If the dog is bitten by a tick, a flea or simply a mosquito, the parasite dies.

The parasite infestation can thus be controlled very quickly and effectively.

Effect on the risk of infection with tick bites

At first glance, the problem seems to be easily solved with acaricides. But unfortunately only at first sight. Because if you haven't been quick to hear when reading the term neurotoxin, we promise you'll change your mind about classic flea and tick remedies for dogs in a few moments. It sounds good that parasites are killed by the use of tablets or spot-ons. However, one thing is completely ignored. This is the fact that ticks in particular bite their victims.

If the tick dies from the acaricide, it does not fall off, but remains stuck in the skin of your dog. Possible pathogens can therefore still get into the organism of the four-legged friend and infect him. In other words, tick repellents even increase the risk of infection instead of reducing it. Not only do you expose your coat nose to unnecessarily dangerous toxins, but you also increase the likelihood that it will become seriously ill as a result of a tick bite.

Avoiding tick repellents often makes sense

Fortunately, reliable tick protection is also possible completely without the use of toxic substances.

If your quadruped has been bitten by one of the parasites, it should be removed as quickly as possible. It is important that the head of the tick is also removed.

Since most pathogens take several hours to get from the tick into the body, the probability of an infection can be significantly reduced. In any case, it is likely to be lower than when acaricides are used as tick protection.

There are good alternatives

Of course, it is even safer if you avoid infestation with ticks right from the start. For this purpose, you now have a number of effective alternatives at your disposal that do not require the use of acaricides. We recommend that you use our two natural products, Bellfor ZEComplete Spray and ZEComplete Biscuits. Thanks to ingredients such as coconut oil and insect fat, they have a particularly high lauric acid content.

Lauric acid is a medium-chain fatty acid that has a repellent effect on parasites such as ticks. The use of Bellfor ZEComplete changes the smell of your coat nose and prevents ticks from considering it as a potential host. In this way, effective protection is possible without health risks.

Conclusion

Conventional flea and tick remedies are usually a bad choice for your dog. Since the active ingredients are often acaricides, they can cause serious long-term health problems, such as paralysis. In addition, the risk of being infected by a tick bite with Lyme disease or another disease is not reduced but even increased.

Basically, it is therefore better to do without a tick repellent completely and instead limit yourself to the prompt removal of the parasites. However, if you want to be on the safe side, you should use a natural remedy such as Bellfor ZEComplete. This helps to prevent the parasite infestation from the outset and has no undesirable side effects.
