Grain-free dog food

Grain-free dog food

Grain allergy in dogs leads to severe health problems

For us humans, cereals are important dietary fibres to supplement our daily diet. What is good for us, however, can be a health hazard for our four-legged friends. Grains such as wheat, barley, oats or rice also provide our four-legged friend with energy, strength and endurance. They also contain valuable minerals and vitamins. Should dogs do without it? No, because as with everything in life, the dose makes the poison. However, dogs with a proven grain allergy or grain intolerance should indeed be fed grain-free dog food, because it can permanently cure the symptoms that occur.

Grain-free dog food as a preventive alternative

Dogs have an adaptable digestive tract due to their wolf lineage, which makes them carnivores. For a species-appropriate diet, they need high-quality meat to meet their protein and fat requirements. In addition, a relatively low proportion of valuable carbohydrates is sufficient for a healthy diet. If the grain is left out, sweet potatoes or vegetables can also provide the necessary carbohydrates, dietary fibres, vitamins and minerals. Many dog owners have recognized this and change the feeding to grain-free dog food even without proven allergy.
